50/40 Celebration Information
The official observance day is Saturday, May 24, with events beginning at noon. We plan a Nicholson Entrance ceremony at the Butler Homestead in the afternoon, and a free catered barbecue dinner that evening, followed by reminiscing around the fire after dark. As with most caving things the schedule is purposely "loose." Arrive anytime Friday....and stay as late as Monday. Donations to the BCCS (to help us finance all this) of course are welcome, but the BCCS is not charging for anything. Camping is available on the Butler homestead grounds in the meadow, on the hill and in the woods if some prefer. Camping is also available at Lucas’ Owl Cave meadow. Shopping and restaurants in the immediate area are limited, it is suggested that you bring enough camping supplies for the weekend. Bring water and ice. Portable toilets will be provided. Of course, bring your caving gear! |
